WHY JED

Why work with an
independent advisor?

Many philanthropic advisors sit inside institutions with their own interests.
Jed doesn't. No asset management fees, no "favored" foundations or
nonprofits, no referral arrangements. Just rigorous, undivided counsel
accountable only to your values and the impact you hope to have.

Independent — no institutional conflicts of interest

Values-first approach — strategy follows from what matters most deeply to you,

not merely what's fashionable

Rigorous — every recommendation backed by evidence: aggregated data
and individualized life improvements

Selective — Jed's "concierge" approach is bespoke to you,

delivering the attentiveness of your focused, trusted advisor

HOW IT WORKS: WHAT JED DOES FOR YOUR GIVING

Engagement Model & Services

Every engagement begins with deep listening that yields impact sooner than you thought possible.

Services tailored to your values, capacity (both $ and time),  and ambition.

Jed's concierge approach ensures depth of attention as your needs and the landscape evolve.

01

Values & Vision

A deep conversation to surface
your core philanthropic values,
the legacy you want to build,
and how your giving can have the most leverage.

02

Landscape & Research

Independent analysis of the field — who's doing what, where the gaps are, and which organizations have the evidence base to justify serious
investment.

03

Strategy Design

A tailored plan: focus areas,
portfolio composition, giving
vehicles, and performance tracking to show exactly what your philanthropy is achieving, in the ways you care most about —
all built around your core values,
not a template.

ABOUT JED

Strategic counsel rooted
in law, ethics, and global
experience.

Jed Rich brings a rare combination of legal training, hyperlocal to international experience, and deep ethical grounding to philanthropic advising.

His panoramic, concierge approach — informed by directing an innovative nonprofit, then pivoting to funding advising  — efficiently cuts through complexity to identify what actually moves the needle.

He often works with clients operating at scale with budgets of $1M/year or more,  across multiple U.S. states or nations.

He also encourages "emerging" philanthropists just getting started to think strategically about their giving from Day 1.

Clients describe Jed as the advisor they wish they'd had sooner:  precise where others are vague; independent and honest without institutional conflicts;  and deeply committed to your values and the impact you aim to achieve.
